An Intimate Wedding at Chelsea Town Hall | Desireé & Dave

Small weddings often hold the most meaningful moments. Desireé and Dave’s intimate ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall was a beautiful reminder that weddings do not need to be large to be deeply emotional and memorable.

After more than a decade together, Desireé and Dave decided it was finally time to make things official. Surrounded only by their three adult children, they chose a quiet and heartfelt ceremony in the elegant surroundings of Chelsea Town Hall.

A Chance Meeting That Led to a Wedding

What makes this wedding even more special to me is how Desireé and I first met.

Two years ago, we happened to sit next to each other on a plane. During the flight we started chatting and discovered we were both Spanish. We spoke about life, travel and photography, and before landing I told her about my work as a photographer.

Life continued, and I never expected to hear from her again.

But two years later, Desireé reached out. She remembered our conversation and told me she was getting married in London. She asked if I would photograph the ceremony.

Moments like this remind me how small and connected the world can be.

A Bright Morning in Chelsea

The wedding took place on a bright morning in March in Chelsea, one of London’s most elegant neighbourhoods. The architecture around the town hall, the quiet streets and the timeless feel of the area made the perfect setting for such a personal celebration.

Inside the ceremony room, the atmosphere was calm and emotional. With only their children present, every glance, smile and small gesture carried meaning. It felt less like a formal event and more like a family moment marking the next chapter of their lives.

Desireé looked effortlessly elegant in a simple, classic dress, while Dave wore a timeless navy suit. Their style perfectly matched the refined surroundings of Chelsea Town Hall.

A Ceremony Filled With Emotion

The ceremony itself was intimate and heartfelt. You could see how much this moment meant to them after so many years together.

Their children watched proudly as the couple exchanged their vows, creating a beautiful atmosphere filled with warmth and genuine emotion. These are the kinds of weddings I love to photograph — small, honest celebrations where the focus is simply on the people who matter most.

Photographs Under the Chelsea Town Hall Flower Arch

After the ceremony we stepped outside for a few quick portraits.

The floral arch outside Chelsea Town Hall is one of the most iconic spots in the area and creates a beautiful backdrop for newly married couples. With the soft spring light and a few joyful moments shared between the family, we captured a series of natural portraits on the steps and along the street.

We only needed about ten minutes outside, but those moments were enough to capture the joy of the day, laughter, congratulations and the excitement of a new beginning.

Why Small Weddings Are So Special

As a photographer, intimate weddings like this have a unique magic. When the guest list is small, every interaction becomes more meaningful. There’s time to breathe, to feel the moment and to celebrate in a relaxed and genuine way.

Desireé and Dave’s wedding was a perfect example of how powerful a simple ceremony can be. No large production, just love, family and a beautiful London setting.
