What Great Corporate Event Photography Actually Looks Like — Lessons From a London Conference

This month I spent the day photographing the BigHand Conference 2026 at Convene, 155 Bishopsgate, 300-plus people, a packed agenda of back-to-back sessions, and an after-party at The Light Bar that ran beautifully late. As a corporate event photographer in London, days like this are my favourite: high energy, no second takes, and one job, to make sure nothing worth remembering slips past the lens.

After 22 years behind the camera, I've seen the difference between event photos that sit forgotten in a folder and the ones a marketing team reaches for again and again. Here's what actually makes that difference.

It's not about posing — it's about reading the room

The best event photography is almost invisible. I'm not there to line people up and interrupt the day; I'm there to read it. To feel where the next moment is about to happen and be ready a second before it does.

That means working quietly in the background, anticipating the speaker's gesture, the laugh rippling through the audience, the two people who step aside for the conversation that turns into a deal. When I do my job well, your guests barely notice me. They just enjoy the day. And later, you get images that feel real, not staged.

The shots that actually matter

A great conference gallery tells the story of the whole day, not just the bits that were scheduled. At an event like BigHand's, that means capturing:

  • The speakers, mid-point and mid-energy, not stiff, but in flow.

  • Genuine audience reactions, the nods, the notes, the laughter.

  • The networking, handshakes, introductions, the coffee-break buzz where a lot of the real value of a conference actually happens.

  • The details, your branding, the signage, the stage, the room set-up. These are the shots your team needs for next year's deck and for sponsors.

  • The atmosphere, the venue, the light, the after-party. The feeling of being there.

When you put those together, you don't just have photos. You have a story your business can use for months.

Why fast delivery matters more than you'd think

Here's something a lot of people don't realise until it's too late: for PR and social, timing is everything. A brilliant photo that lands a week after the event is old news. The moment has passed, the momentum is gone.

That's why I work with quick turnaround and same-day previews where it counts, so your team can post while the room is still buzzing, share with press while it's relevant, and keep the energy of the day alive online.

22 years, 198+ five-star reviews — what it's like to work with me

I'm Lola, a Spanish photographer based in Greenwich, and I've been photographing events, conferences and the people behind great brands across London for over two decades. I've been trusted by EY, BBVA, CAT, Allfunds, Decanter and others, and I'm fully insured with public liability and used to the rhythm of a busy professional event.

What my clients tell me most often is that I'm calm, prepared, and easy to have around on a high-pressure day. (I like to think the Andalusian warmth helps too.) You can see what 198-plus people have said over on my Google reviews.
